Sylvaine and David Capron, 2 daughters, both a bit older these days as you can see below

(we borrowed Baba the elephant for a super cool family portrait shot by good friend Chris Keating, FYI she used to hang out with Michael Jackson on Neverland Ranch).

We came over from France and the UK respectively in 1999. Sylvaine with a Baccalaureate in International Business and David with a BA in Fashion Design.

We started the business in 2005 in our garage, opened our first studio in 2008 (in the same week that Lehman Brothers went down, perfect timing). Moved studios in 2010 as we started working with Just Food For Dogs and concentrated on Dogma Pet Portraits because it’s the most fun.

THE DOGS

First up is our BDF, Roxy, She’s the little beauty on the home page.

We got her about the same time as we opened the dog based studio in 2010, she was the perfect soulful, gentle studio ambassador for far too short a time.

If you ever ask us how valuable our photography is we’ll show you all through the house and point out all the images we have of her and all the memories and sneaky tears they bring out.

A rescue from Barks of Love and reigning “Looks Most Like a German Shepherd” title holder as awarded by the German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California .

When Roxy passed we hastily fostered this Long Haired Chihuahua named Jules, she got adopted as it sunk in that if we’d tried to adopt her to another unsuspecting family she’d be back with the rescue, K9 Spirit within the week, every week. Despite the pretty face she’s a bit psycho, so if you ever meet her respect her space and watch your fingers. Here’s a fun progression from when she first got to us to a year later.

Last up, and he’s a Love Job, is Bandit.

He came into the studio to have his rescue portrait made , dressed in his bowtie, he grabbed my heart there and then.

Found on the street with a badly damaged eye that had to be removed, his wiggly butt and fantastic attitude sealed the deal.

The fact that he was immediately dognapped by daughter 1 is the only slight regret, but until she finishes college it looks like we’ll have the pleasure of his company.
