Welcome to DOGMA Pet Portraits

Roxy's alternative aspects

This is Roxy, we exist and thrive as an idea because of her.

She loves us and inspired our slogan “WHERE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE BECOMES ART”. She’s a rescue, from Barks of Love, without them and the countless hours they put in we wouldn’t have her and she wouldn’t be alive. She’s also the first larger than life piece of artwork you’ll see when you come to the studio.

We started Dogma Pet Portraits because at Emotion Portrait Studios nearly every time we make a family portrait there’s a dog in it, and over the years we’ve sold as many portraits of dogs as we have of kids. I believe that’s because the way we shoot, in a super relaxed, carefree environment, we are able to capture a dogs personality as easily as that of a child.

So we switched our brains to address the needs of our four legged friends and their humans. We designed our new Costa Mesa Studio to cater specifically to those families where the dogs are the most important personalities in the home.

As you continue looking through this site, I think you’ll get a great insight to each one of the inspiring dogs featured, and if you do then I’m doing my job.

Dear Sylvaine-
It was very nice to meet and chat with you yesterday.
Thank you for your call and e-mail.
I discussed your company with my twin sister, Haidee, and we are both concerned that the cost would not be within our budget.
So, Sylvanie, I was wondering if you could send me the bottom-line cost of a Christmas post card. This would include two humans and two “as far as they’re concerned” human dogs.
Thanks, Sylvanie. Please respond at your convenience.
Blessings,
Lisa (Hall)

Our best work of art

Froley, our best work of art has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and will be sorely missed

Our thoughts go out to Kari who’ll be missing her constant companion Froley who crossed the Rainbow Bridge late last week. Thanks for bringing him to meet us.

A Silly Shot of a Couple of Very Shy Chiuahuas

SHY GUYS

Look we can hide behind that leg over there!

So we had WAGS PET ADOPTION rescue in the studio over the weekend, with some of their small guys. Now when we have rescue dogs in the studio we don’t have all the “settle in” time we have in normal sessions, so sometimes it gets a little intense and in a big white room there’s very few places to hide here’s the most inventive we’ve seen so far.

These are perky little guys with big personalities and come as a pair, if you are looking for a couple of new companions give wags a call.

BOBBY BILBO BIG BOUNCY BOY BULLDOGS

Like that title? Took me hours to come up with that one.

This is the when the work gets really fun (it’s always fun just in case that comment indicated otherwise) chasing a coupe of loopy bulldogs around the studio, and trying to get that money shot of the two of them sitting decorously in the same part of the studio at the same time. We got it but it was a chase. These are the coolest guys. Thanks for the testimonial, we appreciate it and thanks for coming all the way from LA County.
